What are the examples of the Internet of things?

In several developed societies, consumers are leveraging IoT applications to improve their home automation and security. For instance, Google Nest offers a wide range of smart home automation and security products such as doorbells, locks, cameras, thermostats, smoke detectors, speakers, streaming devices, and other security systems to enable homeowners to better manage their living environment.

Most of these IoT apps are “smart” by design, which means they are programmed with machine learning capabilities to learn your preferences (e.g., your preferred room temperature) and apply the data to suit your convenience. In addition to being self-learning, such IoT applications are Wi-Fi-enabled and sensor-driven so that they can communicate with other IoT devices within their defined range.
